Marilena Christodoulou (b. 1981, Larnaca, Cyprus) is a visual artist working primarily with painting, drawing, photography, and mixed media. Her work is rooted in expressionism and is deeply connected to the human figure, particularly the nude and its capacity to express emotion, intimacy, desire, and vulnerability.

She studied Decorazione at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino in Italy, graduating in 2008, and also studied photography at the FOCUS School of Photography in Athens. Her artistic development was further influenced by her early mentorship with Cypriot painter Stelios Votsis, which strengthened her understanding of painting techniques and conceptual expression.

Over the years, her practice has moved through different subjects, materials, and visual languages, from ink and photography to figurative painting, monochromatic studies, expressive colour, and mixed media. Rather than following one fixed style, she allows each body of work to grow from a particular emotional or visual impulse.

Her work has been presented in exhibitions and artistic projects in Cyprus and abroad. Her current practice continues to explore the human body as a carrier of memory, emotion, silence, sensuality, and transformation.
